The Japanese earthquake shook the seabed 50 meters

The earthquake that struck last March 11 and hit Japan nuclear plant in Fukushima shifted the seabed 50 meters horizontally and 16 meters vertically, according to a study published in the journal Science.

The impact was greater than had been calculated so far.

They compared the measurements of the sea before and after the earthquake and identified the differences that occurred in its entirety with the axis of the Japan Trench.
