A U.S. satellite company said it had managed to photograph the first Chinese aircraft carrier.
Aircraft was photographed on December 8 near the China coast in the Yellow Sea, one of the satellites of the company, according to the Associated Press.
The aircraft is a former Soviet warship called Varyag, which was never to be running. When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, its rusty hull was stranded at a port in Ukraine.
China took several years to complete the operation of towing to the Chinese port of Dalian in the northeast.
